Position Summary

The Marketing Specialist plays a critical role in building the MicroCorp brand by implementing and executing the marketing plan, producing and distributing quality digital and print marketing elements, and planning compelling face-to-face and web events. This job will focus on digital marketing activities 50% of the time, and event planning the remaining 50%.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Automation
  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns through Marketo marketing automation platform, inclusive of newsletters, event invitations and drip campaigns.
  • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals
Website Management
  • Manage routine website content updates utilizing WordPress platform
  • Maintain a system to ensure all content is regularly reviewed and updated
  • Interface with web design contractors
  • Manage Google reporting
Collateral & Signage
  • Ensure that all collateral and signage designs and assets are maintained and up to date
  • Interface with outsourced graphic designer for new collateral assets as well as updates
Social Media
  • Manage daily posts for all social media
Manage Events Calendar
  • With VP Marketing, manage annual event calendar inclusive of all annual, regional, local, web and trade show events
  • Ensure calendar is regularly updated and distributed to employees, selling partners and providers through established communication channels
Event Planning
  • Continually build prospect list for local and regional events to help drive prospect attendance
  • Begin drip campaigns to each event market, preferably 120 days in advance of an event
  • Working with key event stakeholders, gather all expectations of the event 120 days prior to the event
  • Finalize event details 90 days in advance to help build Save-the-Date, event invitations and web landing page
  • Build event plans for each event, coordinating and communicating with stakeholder in the event
  • Arrange venues for each event
  • Manage sponsor activities for the event – sponsor guide, track sponsor attendees, track sponsor packages
  • Ensure event is planned according to established budget
  • Manage social media and text message communications for the event
  • Assist field sales in making follow up calls to preserve RSVP’s
  • Primary event planner and venue contact (not presenter) as the need arises
  • Attend events as need arises
  • Provide post-event reporting on attendance and leads
One on One Annual Event
  • With VP of Marketing, develop event plan for flagship annual event
  • Working closely with VP of Marketing, manage key event tasks as assigned for pre-marketing, venue management, transportation, hotel accommodations, signage, logistics and other tasks as they arise
  • Create job list for other MicroCorp employees and manage their completion of those tasks during the event
  • Manage video, photography and social media posting during the event
Company Training Webinars
  • Create content calendar for webinar schedule
  • Arrange for MicroCorp speakers, provider speakers and other call guests
  • Assist in building the web presentation and running the conferencing portal
Field Marketing Event Kit
  • Maintain Marketing Kits for field sales personnel inclusive of collateral, signage, name badges, table top marketing elements, etc
Sponsorships
  • Manage to each sponsor’s respective sponsorship package to ensure sponsor is receiving all benefits
  • Ensure sponsorship benefits tracking is current at all times
  • Work with company controller to ensure that sponsorships are invoiced properly and prior to each event
  • Provide ROI and other reporting as required by the sponsor
Key Requirements
  • BS/BA degree in marketing or a related field
  • Five or more years of relevant marketing experience
  • Experience in telecommunications and/or IT industries
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing, with the potential and attitude required to learn
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in devising marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns
  • Experience in Marketo marketing automation platform a plus
  • Good taste, a sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and engaging communication
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing, measurement, web design, graphics, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Budget-management skills and proficiency
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for vendor visits
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at once
  • Occasional travel may be required
